Something for everyone in the ag industry

The agriculture industry is a very different one from when our parents and grandparents were growing up. Today the industry offers a much more diverse and exciting range of careers.

If you're a hands on person that loves working out-doors, a career on-farm could be just for you. Whether you're interested in dairy farming, sheep or beef (or even both!) or maybe not even sure what you want to be doing yet; there are plenty of opportunities on-farm and often no experience or qualifications are needed.

If mucking in and getting dirty doesn't quite sound like you, then the ag industry also offers a huge range of career opportunities for people who are keen to work in jobs that help farmers be successful.

New Zealand research scientists have long been world leaders in applying new science technologies to this dynamic industry - such as gene discovery, plant and animal physiology and molecular genetics.

Agri-business careers include a range of skilled, professional services to farmers. These include vets, farm consultants, environmental engineers, fertiliser reps and bankers… the list goes on and on! More and more people are building great careers in the ag industry and becoming really successful.
