So you want a career in agriculture? What next?
So many decisions...
We know how overwhelming it can be in your last few years of high school. What career do you want? What subjects should you take? And where should you study when you leave school!?
Start planning now.
It may seem like a really really long way away, but if you’ve got an idea of what you want to do when you leave school (or no idea at all!), or if you know that agriculture is for you, it pays to start looking into your options now. Some training courses require you to take certain subjects at high school as an entry requirement, so it’s never too early to start thinking about your options.
Have a look through the training and education providers on our website. Their websites will give you more information, or provide contacts for more advice. We’re here to help too! If you have any questions – leave a question on our facebook page or contact us and we’ll point you in the right direction.
But I want to work on a farm!
Farming is much more technical than it used to be and more and more farms are being run as high functioning businesses, meaning it can still be very beneficial to study after school to get the right skills. There are education providers that offer all sorts of courses (they often have more practical work than other qualifications) that range from a few months to a few years to help you on your way to winning the job you really want.
