James Robertson

Job: Animal Science     Area: Waikato/Bay of Plenty

James is currently Year 12 at Hamilton Boys' High School and plans to study Animal Science.

NZ Young Farmers Involvement:
James has competed in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty TeenAg Regional Final, making it through to the 2013 Grand Final in Auckland, where he and teammate Regan Kidd came away with the title of TeenAg Grand Final Champions. He is a member of the Hamilton Boys' High School TeenAg Club and has attended Get Ahead Experience Days in Cambridge. 

"My involvement in the NZ Young Farmers programmes has provided me with more knowledge about what I want to do, and given me the opportunity to meet more people in the agricultural industry."

The Plan:
To attend either Massey University or Lincoln University in 2015 to study Animal Science.

Influence's/Role Models:
James's greatest influence on his career decisions is his father. "We have similar interests, and what dad doesn't know, I want to learn." 
His role model is Tim Van de Molen, the 2013 ANZ Young Farmer Contest Champion.
