Job: Farmer/Field Rep Area: Otago/Southland
Richard is currently Year 13 at Gore High School and plans to become a farmer or a field rep.
NZ Young Farmers Involvement:
He has competed in the Otago/Southland TeenAg Regional Final twice, in 2011 and 2012. Both times he made it through to Grand Final (Masterton and Dunedin, respectively.), placing 2nd in Dunedin. He attended Get Ahead in Winton in 2011, and Gore 2012.
"I used to want to just go farming, it was the easy option. After attending Get Ahead, I started to think about becoming a Field Rep and decided to do a Degree instead of a Diploma."
To attend Lincoln University in 2014 to complete a Bachelor of Commerce (Agriculture) Degree, before finding a job either on-farm or as a field rep.
"My family has been in the agricultural industry for generations,and I want to continue that tradition, so they would be the biggest influences and role models."
Rugby, hockey, dealing with cars, duck shooting, working on the farm.
