Sam Moscrip

Job: Dairy Farmer     Area: Northern

Sam is currently in Year 13 at Kamo High School and planning on becoming a Dairy Farmer

NZ Young Farmers Involvement:
Sam has competed in the Northern Regional Final of the TeenAg Competition in both 2012 and 2013, both times making it through to the Grand Final. He is the current Chairman of the Kamo High School TeenAg Club and attended Get Ahead in Auckland in 2013. He also participated in the In2 the Field programme in 2012, completing a Rural Banking placement with BNZ's Matt Marr.

"These programmes have enhanced my decisions and given me more networking contacts, confirming what I've known for a few years now about what I want to do."

The Plan:
Sam intends to attend Lincoln University in 2014 and complete a Bachelor of Agriculture Degree, before heading into dairy farming.

Influence's/Role Models:
Sam believes that his parents have a great influence on his career decisions, as does his High School Agriculture teacher, Colleen Rushton. He has many role models, including other farmers, and friends of his parents. 

Playing hockey, farming and adventure racing - ARC (Adventure Racing Coromandel, multi-sport races).
