Samantha Gray

Job: Agronomist     Area: Aorangi

Sam is currently Year 13 at Craighead Diocesan School for Girls in Timaru and plans to become an Agronomist.

NZ Young Farmers Involvement:
She has competed in the Aorangi TeenAg Regional Final twice, in 2012 and 2013. Both times she made it through to Grand Final (Dunedin and Auckland, respectively.) She attended Get Ahead in Timaru in 2013, and completed two In2 the Field Placements in 2011. She is also the Chair of the Craighead TeenAg Club.

"The Get Ahead Days definitely had an impact on my career decisions. It was really interesting to see how peple got to where they are, and to learn what steps I could take."

The Plan:
To attend Lincoln University in 2014 to study a Bachelor of Agricultural Science Degree. Following her study, Samantha plans to find her way into a career in Agronomy.

Influence's/Role Models:
"The TeenAg Competition and the people I met at those got me interested in Agriculture, so I guess that would be the biggest influence on my career decisions."
