Lincoln University

Massey is one of the world's leading agri-food universities and a founding partner of the Food Innovation Network, working with industry to support New Zealand's food industry - a sector the University has supported for more than 80 years.

 


If you're interested in fundamental sciences such as chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology; they are all intrinsic in Massey's College of Sciences. AgITO is one of New Zealand's largest industry training organisations. They help around 8,000 people every year to gain the knowledge and skills they need for a productive and rewarding career in agriculture.


They offer nationally recognised, NZQA qualifications in industry sectors ranging from dairy, to sheep and cattle, rural servicing, pork, poultry, wool harvesting and water industry services.


If you don't want to take time off to study, AgITO trainees learn while they're working and earn a regular wage. A big part of their role is the support and mentorship their training advisers give trainees and their employers.

Taratahi Agriculture Training Centre

 

Taratahi has been successfully training Kiwis for agricultural careers since 1919. Taratahi offers full-time courses, extra-mural study, short courses and STAR/Gateway programmes. Taratahi has also been chosen by the Ministry of Education as the Primary Industry Trades Academy (PITA).

 

The main campus is based near Masterton in the Wairarapa, with non-residential campuses in Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, Northland and Rodney.

 

Taratahi offers a unique learning environment, with thousands of hectares of commercial farm land, a fully residential campus and significant well-resourced teaching areas. There are a huge number of scholarships available for full time students too.

Telford Rural Polytechnic

  

Telford is New Zealand's largest polytechnic in terms of landmass, yet smallest in terms of students' numbers, Telford offers you a unique training environment that cannot be matched anywhere else in the country. There's 800 hectares of farmland, a 20 hectare campus with halls of residence, small practical class numbers, and a caring and supportive environment.


Telford has a blended learning style of theory and applied 'HANDS ON' training, giving students qualifications through real world experiences.


Telford has a strong national reputation, having delivered quality graduates for many years in the fields of Agriculture (Sheep, Dairy, Deer & Beef), Equine, Forestry and Apiculture (Beekeeping).
